About Spectra
Spectra is the founder of Spectrum Affirming — a peer-led space for those on the spectrum, the questioning, the self-diagnosed, the late-diagnosed, and everyone who loves them.
The diagnosis came as an adult. What came before it was decades of creativity as a primary adapter, allyship to communities that turned out to include them, and the particular exhaustion of navigating a world without a map that fit.
As founder, Spectra's work sits in three places at once. The first is lived experience — the personal, interior writing that anchors the site's voice: what late diagnosis actually feels like, what masking costs, what changes and what doesn't once you have a name for it. The second is creative direction — the tone, the visuals, the site's whole point of view, shaped from the inside rather than borrowed from clinical or corporate language. The third is infrastructure — the parts nobody sees: the site itself, the systems that make signups and articles and search visibility actually work, built and maintained so the content has somewhere real to live.
Spectra's work also spans peer support and resource navigation, job coaching for neurodivergent adults, and building tools and apps designed with spectrum-affirming minds in mind. Everything shared here is built in real time — not from the other side of recovery, but from inside the experience.
There is also a statistical overlap between being on the spectrum and LGBTQ+ identity that Spectra navigates personally — and that shows up in the work.
