Mutual Aid
Mutual aid isn't charity — it's peers pooling for each other, not saviors distributing to victims. If you're autistic or disabled and need support, or you have something to offer, here's where to start.
Real, Active Mutual Aid Programs
Stimpunks Foundation
A neurodivergent- and disabled-led nonprofit sending direct mutual aid grants — typically up to $500 — to help with housing, food, connection, and survival costs. They also run Creator Grants and open educational resources.
stimpunks.org/aid →The Autistic People of Color Fund
Provides direct microgrants to autistic people of color.
autismandrace.com →Campaigns That Need Attention
mutual-aid-data.php is still an unwritten placeholder ([Add context on why this campaign needs attention]). The widget itself is real and will render live once this page is on your actual domain — but you'll want to write the real "why this matters" context before this goes live. I'm not filling that in myself since it's your call what to say about someone else's situation.Sharing Your Own Campaign
If you'd like us to help amplify a fundraising campaign, reach out through our Contact page with the link and a short note about what it's for.
How we handle this, so it's the same for everyone:
- Campaigns are shared based on genuine need and a real, verifiable link — not promoted on a first-come, paid, or preferential basis
- We don't guarantee placement or a timeline — this is a small site, and reach will be modest
- Sharing a campaign here isn't a personal endorsement of every detail of someone's situation, just a genuine attempt to widen who sees it
Supporting This Site Itself
Running Spectrum Affirming — the research, the writing, the actual infrastructure — is its own unpaid labor, separate from any individual's personal need. If you'd like to support that particular work, our Donate page is the place for it. (Referenced by the live site; not included in this handoff, so not built here yet.)
