A self-reflection page for anyone questioning, self-diagnosed, or newly diagnosed. This won't diagnose you — but it might help you name what you've been carrying.
You clicked into this page for a reason. Maybe someone said something that made you pause. Maybe you've been quietly wondering for years and finally typed the question into a search bar. Maybe you just got a diagnosis this morning and you're still sitting with it. Whatever brought you here — this page isn't going to diagnose you. It's going to help you figure out if it's worth taking the next step.
This is a self-reflection page, not a diagnostic tool. No checklist — including this one — can tell you whether you're autistic. Only a qualified assessor can do that, and even then, "qualified" and "affirming" don't always mean the same provider. What this page can do is help you notice patterns, put language to things you may not have had words for, and decide whether it's worth pursuing an assessment.
Not everyone relates to all of these. Not relating to some doesn't rule anything out. This is a starting point, not a scorecard.
If several of these landed, that doesn't mean anything is wrong with you. It means there may be a name for something you've been carrying alone. Naming it doesn't change who you are — it changes how much sense you make to yourself.
There's no single right next step. Some people move straight to a formal assessment. Some people sit with self-identification for a while first — and that's a real, valid identity within this community, not a lesser version of diagnosis. Some people start by reading, or listening to other late-diagnosed adults talk about their experience, before deciding anything.
If you think you want to pursue a formal assessment, the next page walks through what that process actually looks like — providers, cost, waitlists, and how to talk to a doctor about it.
